Die internationale Aufmerksamkeit für die dänische Kunstszene hat sich in den letzten Jahren kontinuierlich gesteigert, was Ausdruck einer äusserst lebendigen Kunst-Community ist. Die Ausstellung Elongated landscapes zeigt drei in Dänemark lebende KünstlerInnen, welche sich
Rahmenbedingungen für Präsentationen und Diskussionen in Dänemark geschaffen haben. Elongated
Landscapes bietet die Möglichkeit zu einem umfassenderen Lesen einer komplexen künstlerischen
Wirklichkeit. Die in der Ausstellung vertretenen KünstlerInnen arbeiten mit den verschiedensten künstlerischen Möglichkeiten und Strategien und bewegen sich in einem Feld zwischen kunstimmanenten, formalistischen Überlegungen und Untersuchungen – in den Bereichen Malerei ( Marianne Therese Gronnow ), Fotografie ( Mads Gamdrup ) Video und Installation ( Marie Romer Westh ).





The broader view of Danish artists active in these years can only serve as a contextual back-drop for a more
narrow selection with an objective to offer a reading of a complex artistic reality. The exhibition is thus not
thematic, but intend to show several strategies arranged around the individual artworks and artistic attitudes.
The Danish artists shown in this exhibition represent different artistic strategies regardless of the media they work in. They divert in both media and discourse, and whether it is painting, photography, video, sculpture, installation or interventions, the works reach out wide between the formal considerations and investigations
on one side, social and contextual investigations on the other side.
